Obama seeks new relationship with Latin America

BY: Almas Khan

President Obama visits Mexico, Trinidad and Tobago to develop a cooperative relationship with Latin America. According to Obama's plans, he said that he would like to work with the leaders on achieving similar goals. The other thing he really emphasized on was that he would also just like to listen to what they have to say.
Many Latin American leaders are pushing for Cuba to be readmitted into the Organization of American States. Obama said he did not want to end the 47 year old interdiction on Cuba but that he would work on easing the restrictions for visits to Cuba.
Another issue that was talked about was how Latin American economy crisis could be handled. An analyst said that the only way Latin American economy could be helped is through American economy getting back on track, since United States is the main trade country with Latin America.
