Last of Chilean miners is rescued, as families and nation celebrate

All of the miners from the Chilean mine collapse from Aug 5th are freed.  They were suck a half a mile underground for 69 days.  They were rescued with the help of many different Americans firms including NASA and a water well driller.  They had to be brought up one by one in a capsule designed by NASA in a 28in wide hole.  There was alot of speculation about what was going to happen when they came up the surface.  All of the families received checks for $10000 dollars from the company as well as invitations to TV shows.  I dont think $10000 is nearly enough for the things they went through it seems to me like they are trying to buy them off and part of the acceptance is a promise not to sue.  I couldnt imagine what that would be like.  I am sure it was a very emotional day for them and I am glad to see that they all made it out of the mine safely.
