From a new report on CNN the shp that was taken over by Somali pirates has successfully arrived in Kenya, only without a captain aboard. Captain Phillips, who after being captured, is being held by four somali pirates on a lifeboat off the coast of Somalia. He has already tried to make an escape and is now tied up on the ship. The USA has sent a few naval vessels to help the situation and to try and get Phillips off the lifeboat but have so far been unsuccessful. Meanwhile another ship, a German merchant liner, was attacked but unsuccesfully raided by the same pirate group. CNN's Pentagon Correspondent believes that, with the increase in Naval firepower arriving in the region, this has become more than a hostage situation. The Navy feels that the increase is needed to help stop these threats of pirate attacks in hopes to make these waters safe and navigable.
