Puerto Rico entirely without power as Hurricane Maria hammers island with force not seen in ‘modern history’

[WASHINGTON POST] Hurricane Maria has shut down power for the entirety of Puerto Rico. The category 4 hurricane (its rating as it hit the island) is being considered the strongest storm to hit the territory in 80 years. Eric Blake of the National Hurricane Center tweeted: "On the forecast track, [Maria] would be the most destructive hurricane in Puerto Rico history."
