Verge of Symbolic Victory in Libya

Fighters of the National Transitional Council are on the brink of having control over Gadhafi's hometown of Sirte. If the forces of the NTC can indeed take over Sirte it will be a huge victory for the Libyan people. Sirte stands as a stronghold and a surviving symbol of Gadhafi's regime in Libya. The fall of Sirte will be a significant milestone in Libya's liberation from the oppression regime of Gadhafi. Gadhafi himself still has not be detained and is currently wanted by the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity.
