Afghanistan: A Question of Civilian Casualities.

According to Reuters the US Military has denied accusations of using any chemical weapons in an attack last week that caused civilian casualities, earlier this past week. The attack happened in the West province of Farah, the Afgan President has said that the attack killed as many as 130 civilians and protested publicly in a speech given, against US air strikes. About a hundred of students marched at Kabul University chanting "Death to America" and carried signs calling for an end to air strikes. The US denied any high numbers of civilian deaths, but did say some civilians have died.

An Afgan human right watch has reported a story of a girl which happened to suffer from burns that are identical to those of white phosphorus victims. But the US military said that a Taliban mortar was most likely to blame. And that some civilians were used by the Talibans as human sacrifices which would spark social unrest.
