For the second year in a
row, the Australian authorities have thwarted an alleged terrorist attack on
their Veterans’ Day parade held Monday, April 25th in Sydney. A teenager was arrested because police
believed he was planning to attack Monday’s parade. After searching his home, police declined to tell
the press whether they had seized anything.
Authorities are very concerned because a similar incident occurred last
year involving a larger group of teenagers.
Authorities believe the young man arrested this year acted alone, but the
group arrested last year are suspected of being Islamic extremists.
