President: Sierra Leone's 'blood diamonds' in the past

Sierra Leone's President Ernest Bai Koroma talked to CNN about his country's growth since 2007. The county's infamous civil war ended in 2002. Koroma has been promoting the country for their economic reforms and business investment productivity. Advocates for the country include former prime minister Tony Blair and businessman George Soros. A World Bank report in 2008 deemed Sierra Leone the easiest place to start a business in West Africa, a message that Koroma has been pushing across the world. One of the hot button issues within Sierra Leone has been blood diamonds. However, there are now strict regulations within the country that increase revenue and jobs without slaughter. The country's safety as well as population are working and growing to make the country a better place. Koroma hopes that Sierra Leone will be remembered as a post-conflict country with a new revolution into promising times.
