China on Thursday laid out its military vision in the National Defense white paper. The paper stressed the security concerns in the Asia Pacific regions such as the tension between the two Koreas and growing involvement of the U.S in the regional issues. Although foreign countries including the U.S are suspicious of China’s rapidly growing People’s Liberation Army for use in regional dominance and expansion, China denies saying that its sole purpose is for national defense. It also says that China is simply “reinforcing its military alliances and getting more involved in the regional affairs.” China’s Ministry of Defense says it acknowledges the difficulties and challenges in regards to the country’s military ties. But, the paper also says that other countries including the U.S should respect China’s internal issues referring to Taiwan issue. The military spending by Beijing has been increasing every year; the very reason foreign governments are suspicious of.
