President Trump has apparently threatened Canada with heavy tariffs on their heavily trade based relationship. Trump stated that Canada treats the US very poorly, abusing our trade and making too much money off of Americans. Trump focused specifically on the way agriculture has played out with Canada, explaining that Canada treats our farmers poorly with highly restrictive trade. The article that I read also discussed how President Trump has been focusing a lot on repairing the US’s poor trade agreements with other countries. Overall, this is a large part of the US economy so Trump naturally puts it first.
