Indonesian volcano spews more scorching ash; death toll reaches 156

The recent eruptions of Indonesia's Mount Merapi has raised the death toll to over a 156 people. The volcano has been erupting since October 26th and hasn't shown any signs of slowing down. Two protoplasmic flows have burst from the volcano harming villages kilometers away. Similar eruptions have happened over the last 20 years, so many villagers were not ready for the scale of this explosion. The plumes of smoke from the volcano went as far as 6 miles into the sky. Some victims lived in villagers 20 kilometers away, yet the protoplasmic flow from the volcano proved deadly to villages far away from the volcano. It is estimated that 200,000 people have been displaced from their homes and Indonesian relief efforts have helped many of the farmers who lost their cattle in the eruption.
