Sarkozy: First the strike, now this?

An article on the BBC reports that Nicolas Sarkozy, the French President, was one of four targets for parcel bomb attacks on November 1st. These bombs were intended for the Mexican, Dutch, and Belgian embassies in Athens, and to Mr. Sarkozy. This comes in a recent wave of attacks in Greece coming from far left wing radicals, and there is no mention of ties to groups such as the al-Qaeda. One of the men arrested is thought to be a member of the Conspiracy of Fire, an anarchist group. The bomb addressed to the Mexican embassy exploded while en route, but the others were detained prior to detonation. The Daily Express reports that the two men arrested in conjunction with the attacks were done so with the bombs for Sarkozy and the Belgian embassy in hand. Law enforcement officials are engaging in a search of other postal offices and mail service to ensure that no other bombs have been sent.
