Rwanda’s gacaca courts are hailed as a post-genocide success. The reality is more complicated.

much ie Nuremberg, Rwanda's Gacaca courts were created to try the accomplices of the Rwandan genocide. so far, at least as it appears to most people, the courts have accomplished its goals and achieved stability after dark times. unfortunately, it turns out that the institution is far more political than it appears, the ruling party is currently targeting minority ethnic groups and forcing them to self-incriminate themselves, which lead to the party maintaining the control, making Rwanda an authoritarian regime.
