Band says Beijing canceled concert over Tibet

The Chinese government canceled a stream of concerts planned for Oasis to play in Beijing because one of the band members participated in a Free Tibet concert over ten years ago. Oasis's already permitted license to play was revoked at the end of February. A guitarist from the band appeared at a Free Tibet concert in New York, and once the Chinese government found out, the felt the band was unsuitable to play in front of the Chinese Republic. Although Hong Kong is a part of the Chinese government, they are not a part of the Chinese Republic rules that suppress mainland China. The Chinese government claims that the reason for canceling the concerts was due to the economic problems that China faces, nevertheless, one can conclude that the reason for the cancellations were due to the appearance at a Free Tibet concert. If it were not for the 50th year anniversary of the failed Tibetan revolt against the Chinese Republic, there would have been a chance for Oasis to play. The government is afraid of another attempt at a revolt against the government.
