Britain and France sign defense agreement

Britain and France signed a defense agreement on Tuesday, including the creation of a joint expeditionary force, shared use of aircraft carriers and combined efforts to improve the safety and effectiveness of their nuclear weapons. This is a landmark decision for the two nations who had spent centuries battling each other! The nuclear agreement was the most surprising since it means the nations will be sharing some of their most carefully kept secrets. The cooperation pact is set up to last 50 years and it could transform the way the countries project force, fight wars and compete for defense contracts with the United States.
