Rand Paul, is the first member of the Tea Party to be elected to the U.S. senate this year. He will represent the state of Kentucky, and seems to represent the turnover that is occurring in the House and Senate. The Republicans are off to a fast start by taking seats in the Senate in Indiana and Ohio. These are all early signs that voters want to change the balance of power in Washington. It is becoming more clear that voters are unsure of what President Obama can do to help the country. President Obama has made various calls to radio shows across the country to support the Democrats, but so far it has been to no avail. There are still people who believe in President Obama and are trying to rally support to keep the Democrats in the majority. Voters in favor of the Democrats believe that Obama has not had enough time to make the "change" that he has hoped for. However, President Obama's time with the majority in the House and Senate may be running out. It seems as though most voters early on are pushing for a government that is less involved and for spending decrease.
