Death toll rises to 26 from China coal mine

Today six more bodies were recovered form the disastrous coal mine gas leak that happened this Saturday in Yuzou, China. 173,500 cubic meters of gas leaked into the mine, yet luckily 239 of the 276 workers were able to escape the disaster. Of the 37 miners who did not escape, 26 have been confirmed dead while the remaining 11 are still trapped within the mine. The fate of the trapped 11 is bleak and it is suspected that they are buried beneath coal dust, making it almost impossible for them to be rescued. It is not expected for them to survive.
