Global Warming

Yes, Global warming is here. It is not something Al Gore made up. The melting of ice in Alaska is having an opposite effect on their water levels. The land in Alaska is rising causing the water levels to become lower, producing more land space. The sea is still rising, the Alaskan land is just rising faster than the water. The huge dense chunks of ice melting off of Alaska are giving it lighter mass causing the land to rise in the water. You can already see in in Juneau where the land that was once covered is now becoming covered in grass and could become forests. "The land is rising almost three inches a year" (Dean). The rising Alaska is just one of the few effects of the growing global warming.
