President Obama gave his speech to the '09 class of Notre Dame and was given a warm welcome. What impressed me was the message of the speech: Yes, we have disagreements. But, that doesn't mean we have to yell at each other and/or not listen to the other side. We can talk about things that make us uncomfortable, and in any event, reduce the number of abortions in this country.
After one person interrupted the beginning of the speech with "Stop killing our children!" the graduates responded with Obama's campaign slogan of "Yes we can!" All this after the ND Valedictorian's speech in which she praised Obama.
Obama even took some flack from the left for the open-minded attitude of his speech.
