Vice President Joe Biden arrived in Afghanistan unannounced on Monday night. The surprise trip involved a meeting with top US and Afghan officials at the US Embassy. The officials discussed the beginning of the withdrawal of the 97,000 US troops from the country. They discussed the current state of the situation and its progress. It was also stated that Vice President Biden was scheduled to meet with Afghan President Hamid Karzai along with US servicemen.
