Swapping Pirates for Commerce

A brand new United States insistence on African oceanic development was created not only to help with the issue of piracy but also to work on renovating some ports as well as creating jobs. 90% of international trade moves across water, making access to the sea instrumental in realizing economic growth. However, Africans were not aware of all of the oceans potentials and have recently discovered its importance due to the many issues with piracy. Africa has the least efficient ports in the world. To help with this problem African states will need to join together to bring in modern shipping vessels by renovating and upgrading the ports, increasing the safety by bringing in better maritime law enforcement and security.
