Illegal Imigrant benefits going to far?

By: Marissa Rankins

New Jersey is trying to make a push for in-state tuition for illigal immigrants. Several states have already done this and it is not a totally bad thing. People that work hard deserve to be able to get the best eduaction that they can so that they can possibly lead better lives. The only thing though is that this is for people that shouldn't even be in the United States. They are being made to pay out of state tuition for all colleges, regardless if they went to a high school in New Jersey. I am not against the idea, but I am not for it either. These people are being subjected to less benefits because of a decision that their parents made years ago so it should would only be fair that we give them the same opportunities, or so some would argue. Then again, they are taking spots away from legal citizens who have worked just as hard and need the in-state tuition as well. If we allow for illegal immigrants to recieve this than what else will be accepted? I was shocked to read this article because I was under the impression that illegal immgrants were to be deported. The reality is that, according to the article, 28,000 of the high school students in New Jersey alone are illegal immigrants. If this country is going to put its foot down when it comes to illegal immigration they need to either do it, or allow for changes.
