Maybe we should pay attention to Pakistan...

by Bri Roozen

One has to wonder why America's eyes are only trained to see Iraq and Afghanistan as then big Middle Eastern terrorist regimes, when Pakistan has had political unrest for just as many years.  Well, our attention is finally shifted this week as the Taliban claimed a district just sixty miles outside of the capital.  Although the Pakistani government has sent a few envoys of troops to stop the threat, it doesn't seem as though the Taliban are quite ready to be kicked out.  "We came here only to preach Islam" Taliban commander Mowlana Mohammed Khalil was seen saying in a video.  Of course, all those surrounding him were holding automatic and semi-automatic weapons.  All I can say is that, if Christians took the same method, I would probably still be attending church.

Although the Pakistani government is positive about beating out the insurgents no problem, Hillary Clinton remains more skeptical, warning the world that the possibility of Pakistan falling into terrorist hands remains more than possible.  Let's see where the war on terror will go from here.
