Crackdown on Police Corruption

The most recent crackdown has landed the FBI the largest bust in its history. Arresting 133 people in Puerto Rico over drug protection has Puerto Rican government up in arms. In battling drugs and the associated violence that goes along with drugs and drug trafficking the people who were supposed to be standing up for Puerto Rico were the ones letting it fall to the wasteside in order to make a quick buck. This battle with drugs is never going to win, especially if money can so quickly transfer hands. In my opinion these illicit markets are only being enriched with our advancing technology, and so long as there is no real regulation, the illicit market will continue to proceed as it has been prior to this bust. Also, the reward is what people who participate in such acts focus on and until a more severe consequence is in place these people will continue to work for the illicit market.
