Dutch party gives nod to coalition deal with Wilders

The Dutch Christian Democrats (CDA) party formed a pact with the Freedom Party (PVV), headed by anti-Islamist Geert Wilders. While they have overcome a hurdle forming this coalition, there is still opposition within the CDA that could derail it. However along with the Liberals (VVD)and the PVV, the CDA hopes to get legislation passed. The VVD and the CDA hold 52 seats out of the 150 in Parliament and with the support of the PVV which has 24 seats they would be able to pass the legislation they want. They want to "give the country back to the working Dutch citizen" so in the proposed legislation there are budget cuts, a curb on immigration, an increase in the number of police officers, and a ban on the full Islamic veil in the Netherlands. This coalition breaks the deadlock that had occurred over this legislation. However, the agreement between the VVD, CDA, and PVV has angered some who do not want to work with the anti-Islam Wilders. Wilders himself is facing trial over his controversial film called Fitna (Division) on charges of inciting violence.
