Ethnic tensions cause citizens to flee two of India's states.
Meghalaya and Assam, two Indian states that have been fraught with ethnic tensions for years, are currently experiencing a new wave of tension. With eight people dead since the new year, a restrictive curfew along the boarder, and military populating the area, many are choosing to flee. This current state of tension is due to the demand of an "autonomous council" by one of the groups. Officials claim that the situation is quickly being brought back under control and relief is on the way.
