EU spurns offer of Iran nuclear sites tour

Iran is inviting an EU ambassador to tour its nuclear facilities, but EU's foreign policy chief, Baroness Ashton, plans to reject the invitation. The primary reason is that inspections are to be conducted by the International Atomic Energy Agency, not by diplomats. This invitation provides more suspition to Western countries that Iran is trying to develop nuclear weapons. Iran is set to hold talks at the end of January with the permanent UN Security Council members (US, Russia, China, UK, and France) and Germany. This invitation is merely an attempt to hide the fact that Iran is likely developing nuclear weapons since it is only inviting diplomats. Hence, the invitation will likely be rejected and Iran will continue to be under careful watch by the Western nations.
