India Launches a Toy War with China

By Sunny Singh

China is the biggest trade partner with India and this ban has set a bad role model because many other countries might follow and take the same action for putting a limit on imports from china. I personally think is immoral when most major corporate relocated their resources, power plants and technology to China to lower their cost in order to increase profit. Its irresponsible when corporate thinks they only have to be responsible to their shareholders but not to the citizens whom might lose their jobs and affect the society in different level like; high crime rate, unemployment and impact on the economy. “Plenty of people lost their livelihoods when Chinese swamped the market” (Gorwaney) manufactures wooden educational toys. His company has been suffering from the unfair competition since China joined the WTO in 2001. China offered similar products, more variety, unbelievably low prices, but also lower quality according to Gorwaney of Khazana. ). A lot of countries like India have low labor wages and the environment to produce products like toys to be manufacture domestically, which will create more jobs in certain industry and benefit the society. I think it will benefit every country if the tangible goods are made in China and the final products can me be made in other countries that import products from China. China can focus more on tangible goods that are often easy and doesn’t require a lot of skills and final products can be made in a more advance country like U.S, Canada or their countries whom have similar technology and environment so the quality will improve. It will benefit other countries that are suffering because of the cheap labor and low quality products from china.
