North Korea warns Japan against targeting rocket

By: Liz Hasseld

North Korea is planning to launch a rocket between april 4 and 8th.

They threatened an attack on Japan if this rocket is shot down. This report also mentioned that North Korea would attack other 'major threats' if there was an interference with the launch.

U.S. Navy ships have also been moved to the sea of Japan to watch for North Korea's rocket. Satellite imagery prevents a direct view of what the rocket looks like so no one is quite sure what it is. This launch may also violate a United Nations Security Council resolution.

North Korea claims this is a launch of a satellite into space. US officials fear that the launch will give the North Koreans information to improve their ballistic missile program. Experts say North Korea does not have the technology to reach the pacific coast of the United States with their long range weapons, but this is still something I will be thinking about!
