Obama constantly taking softer stands.

Patrick Larson

This article references an issue we have discussed from time to time in class. It raises the issue of President Obama‘s willingness to press a firm hand in the system of checks and balances used throughout our government. It cites how Obama has routinely sacrificed his ideas as a whole to make alterations which when presented to him make it “better” in his aids eyes. However, the reporter sees this as a potential weakness in Obama’s future foreign affairs and wonders, “Where is the fight”? I see this as an ignorant assumption, just because a leader is willing to make modifications according the people he hired and pays opinions does not display a glaring weakness. I feel it is quite the contrary and he is showing strength in his traits. President Bush made a practice out of his way or the highway, which resulted in congress fighting many of his bills and some of his counsel to simply resign, making his administration a constant mess. President Obama is different, that is why he got elected, and that is why he can be successful.
