Taliban-style Justice for Alleged U.S. Spies

According to this article, the U.S. military gives transmitter chips to selected people in Afganistan and pays them to drop them off at Taliban targets. The chips activate pilotless drone aircrafts to take off and collect information at the place of the target and possibly release missiles. This article includes a video by the Taliban of 19-year-old Habibur Rehman, in which he admits to placing chips for the U.S. (following a few days of interrogation, according to the article). He says he started dropping them off frequently because he got paid for each one he left. The Taliban executed Rehman and other U.S. spies.

According to Muhammed Nasir, a general store owner in Afghanistan, Afghan citizens are terrified they'll be arrested by the Taliban and tried in their secret courts. He says they have no way of proving their innocence; the Taliban says they only execute those who are proven guilty.

Some people think the video is a fake the Taliban created to scare citizens away from spying for the U.S. They say the boy in the video does not look tortured.
