This brief article and accompanying video discussed the depleting fish count in Lake Victoria. Not only is the amount of fish less than it was before, but the average size of each fish is smaller because they are caught before they can grow to full size. Lake Victoria is the second largest lake in the world, and feeds populations in Uganda, Tanzania, and Kenya. This illustrates the elimination of natural resources due to the problem of population growth. The region surrounding Lake Victoria has one of the largest population growths in the world, and due to its poverty will probably remain like that. The video discussed the possible solution of having underwater fish farms that can be used to make money and allow fish to grow to full size. However, this may be too little too late in Lake Victoria, and soon all of the fish might be gone from the lake.
