Obama offers military help to Eastern Europe allies

On Tuesday President Obama announced that he would help beef up military support for eastern European allies that feel they could be next in Russians line of fire. Obama unveiled plans to spend up to $1 billion in supporting and training the armed forces of NATO states on Russia’s borders. Obama was to meet Ukraine’s President-elect Petro Poroshenko in Warsaw on Wednesday and will attend celebrations in France with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday to mark the 70th anniversary of the World War Two D-Day landings. Obama made it clear that he did not want to threaten Russia but only provide support to our allies.
