EU and Greece

For the past few years, the country of Greece has been struggling financially and recently received funds from European Creditors and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Greece has yet to reach a new agreement with the European Creditors, and has a deadline approaching in June. The country is hoping that the EU recognizes Greece's financial progress, including that fact that Greece was able to pay a scheduled interest payment to the IMF on time.

Greece's current government is tasked with choosing one of two options come June: the nation will have to either negotiate a new agreement with the IMF or be forced to default on its loans and leave the euro.
