Completion of the Gotthard Tunnel in Switzerland Makes it More Difficult for the UK to leave the EU

The government of Switzerland held a ceremony of sorts and announced the completion of a 17 year project, which will make it possible to travel through the Alps. This opens up a new trade route, making it more efficient to transport goods, cutting travel times from up to 2 hours and 40 minutes to a 17 minute trip.

This type of project makes the EU a lot more legitimate and helpful to the nations involved. It opens up trade routes through fairly-open borders, and makes EU trade a lot more efficient and worthwhile for the UK to continue investing in. The opening of the Gotthard Tunnel opened the door for criticism of the potential UK split by other prominent leaders in the EU, including Angela Merkel and Francois Hollande.

Will this actually affect the outcome of the UK's vote? Only time will tell.
