As the last day of official campaigning for parliamentary elections went on its way on April 4, 2009, and that the incumbent managed to increase/sustain his popularity, the Indonesian people were more interested in what the election promises- "more jobs, more money and a better life for everyone".
One of the important things to note is that political environment in Indonesia- the ever-changing rules and voting logistics complicate the election more than it should be.
The Indonesian people are finally feeling the impact of the global economy crisis as trades slowed down and economists predict that worse has still yet to come.
President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono was able to regain his popularity due to his effective implementation and use of the state funding as direct cash assistance in order to reach out to the Indonesian people who are in great financial needs.
Indonesia is not alone in this boulevard of crises, within and outside of the country.
