'Satisfaction' from Kim over N. Korea launch

Dan Dierdorff
Today on CNN it is reported that N. Korea successfully launched a long range rocket. The leader, Kim Jong Il, was very pleased with the work of his scientists and technicians for the work they put in. This is very important news and to some it comes as a very troubling report. South Korea condemns the trial of a long range missile considering the tensions these two states have faced. North Korea maintained the stance that this was a peaceful launch of a satellite into orbit. The US and many allies also condemned the action seeing it as an aggressive launch. NORAD and the UN Security Council closely followed this event with full attention but decided against any action against Kim Jong Il and North Korea. This is an important event in this region because now North Korea has the technology to strike from long range. With the failure of their last missile attempt the idea of another seemed far off but clearly North Korea has developed the potential to be quite aggressive.
