In the past week, 24 people were killed in Pakistan during a suicide bomb attack on a
Shia Mosque. These attacks were the actions of Fedayeen al-Islam, the leader in the Pakistani Taliban. Attacks like these have been occurring in all parts of the middle east for a long period of time now. This is nothing new to the world. However, President Barack Obama has now focused its new regional strategy on Pakistan, which diverges from the focus of Iraq from former President George W. Bush. The article further discusses how Pakistan is on the verge of an "internal collapse" and that time is running out for Pakistan. I believe that the grievances of the Pakistani people differ from those of the Iraqis. In regards to this, the International strategy and mindset should also differ from the Iraqi approach. These are two different countries, with two very different cultures. Simply copying and pasting international strategy from Iraq to Pakistan will yield more problems that it might solve.
