A United Army for the Arab World

The article “A United Army for the Arab World” was about Arab countries coming together to form a unified army. This information was announced at a recent Arab League meeting, and called for a layout/plan for the creation of this new army. Arab countries have attempted something like this in the past, but have failed. There are many obstacles Arab countries would have to overcome in order to make a unified army work, but the countries seem more ambitious than ever before. This new ambitious could be because Arab countries do not like relying on the United States. The growing conflict in the middle east has shown weakness in the United States foreign policy, and Arab nations do not trust the U.S. and they once did. A spokesperson for the white house responded by saying that this talk was a good thing. It means that Arab countries are creating more coordination and integration between nations. It also means that the United States might become a less important player in the Middle East. The biggest challenge in the creation of a unified army would be for these Arab nations to overcome their political differences.
