The Mayor of San Juan has requested that Trump steps up the aid to Puerto Rico, but Trump has responded claiming that there is a failure to mobilize the workers and there is "poor leadership." The mayor of San Juan says that she thinks that Trump is trying to make this issue about his political views, while there are thousands of lives at stake. Puerto Rico was several billion dollars in debt prior to the hurricane and now there are about 3.4 million people in need of clean water and without power. It is also noted that there are approximately 10,000 federal workers and 10 disaster medical teams deployed in Puerto Rico.
