Last Sunday night, Israeli forces attacked in the Bekaa region on the Syrian-Lebanese border.
The incident happened hours after Syria's air defence intercepted Israeli "hostile targets" in the Damascus sky. The Israeli Army confirmed that the attack was carried out by its Air Force, which bombarded several Iranian targets on Syrian territory. In response, Iranian presidential spokesman Ali Rabiei said that "Israel will pay a high price for its actions" and that "its blatant acts of aggression will not go unanswered.
A powerful bloc in the Iraqi parliament also responded to the recent escalation of Israeli aggression after a series of air strikes last week by Tel Aviv against Shiite militias allied with Iran.
