Fighting over the Nile

Four East African states have desired to receive more water from the Nile River. Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Ethiopia have claimed that the water distribution from the Nile is unfair and would like a new deal to be made. Currently Egypt and Sudan receive 90% of the river's water and they are opposed to this new agreement signed by the four East African states. The process of determining a new deal has been in negotiation for the past ten years, and nothing has gotten done according to Ethiopian representatives. This new agreement would help experts to determine how much each country is entitled to. Egypt has completely disregarded this agreement claiming, "Water is a matter of national security and Egypt will not join or sign any agreement that affects its share." Both Egypt and Sudan say they will not sign a new deal until they are guaranteed an exact share of the Nile.
