Congo Brazzaville bans the covering of the face by Islamic women in public places. The country is home to 5% of an Islamic population which has recently increased as a result of as a result of refugees fleeing neighboring countries and camping at Mosques. In addition to banning the niqab and the burka, the city also banned the presence of people in the mosques at night stating that mosques are places of worship not sleep.
