Graves in Thailand Jungle Camp

In Songkhla province of Thailand, villagers tipped police off to an abandoned human trafficker jungle camp. There were 32 places that looked like possible graves and 26 bodies were found. While exact cause of death is not known, it looks like the individuals died of disease or starvation. Each grave was covered with bamboo but did not identify who was buried there. The police also found a sick man who was believed to have been abandoned by the smugglers two days ago.  The purpose of the camp is unclear, but smugglers are known to hold people in camps for months while they demand ransoms from families. Every year thousands of people, especially Rohingya Muslims, flee from Myanmar through Thailand to Malaysia. In Myanmar is 2012, more than 200 people were killed and thousands were left homeless after violence broke out between Buddhists and Muslims. Since than anti-Muslim violence has flared several times. The UN even passed a resolution in December urging Myanmar to give access to citizenship for the Rohingya Muslims who are mostly classed as stateless.
