Lawmakers in France move to expand surveillance

The French Parliament is currently approving a bill which would give authorities power to domestically spy with no judicial oversight. This bill has received approval due to the continuous terrorist attacks in and near Paris which have killed many individuals. When this bill is passed, it would give authorities the opportunity to spy on citizens and their interactions on electric devices.  Anyone in France could be tap once this bill goes through since the intelligence services could tap into emails, texts, phone calls, but can also put hidden microphones in rooms and cars. The French Parliament claims this ability to spy on others would only be used in cases where there is a threat of terrorism. However, human rights groups are already attacking Parliament claiming it is against individuals rights to be spied on. Yet, Parliament is focused on protecting citizens from Terrorism, and this bill will likely go into effect.
