Bolivia is the second country to break ties with Israel over the crisis in Gaza. No surprise that leftist Hugo Chavez, president of Venezuela, made the first move in condemning Israel over the human rights violations that have been occurring in Gaza. Evo Morales, president of Bolivia, even went as far as saying that Israels president and prime minister need to be charged of war crimes. Both countries have expelled Israeli ambassadors. So far Israel has not said anything about the comments that leaders have made in opposition to their situation.
This article also made an interesting reference to Bolivia and Venezuela expelling their US ambassadors claiming that they were undermining their governments. This makes me wonder if Israel's close ties with the US is cause for such an strong opposition from these Latin American concerning the problems in Israel and Gaza or if they really are concerned about the way people have been treated.
