North Korea's Kim Tries to Ease Tension in China

"We have confirmed the arrival of a special train at the (Chinese border city) Dandong, and we believe it is highly likely that Senator Kim is on board," a South Korean government official told Yonhap news agency. Kim jong-il entered China sometime over the weekend for what is suspected to be discussions in Soul about the suspected North Korean navel attack. South Korea lost 46 sailors in what reports say are the most since the 1950-1953 Korean War. The trip would be Senator Kim's first trip abroad in two years and four since he was last in China mostly due to what is believed to be poor health reasons.
