Ahmadinejad meets with Chavez during trip through Latin America

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad met Monday with Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez. The two world leaders discussed many issues, but chose to focus on their opposition to the United States. They described the United States as being a threat to the world. This is not the first time the two have met. In the past they have signed trade deals and industrial agreements to the benefit of both nations. However, Ahmadinejad's latest visit comes at a time when tensions are high between Iran and many western powers due to Iran's recent undertaking of more uranium enrichment programs. These programs are said to be for medical purposes. Western leaders aren't the only ones expressing concern over the visit. Venezuelan politician Diego Arria claims that this visit is a way of provoking the United States.
