Obama announces new military strategy of the US.

On Thursday, January 5th, President Barack Obama announced future America’s military plans.  In his speech at the Pentagon, Obama indicated two major changes in the US military strategy.  According to the new strategy, the military forces will now become leaner along with budget cuts on military spending.  Over the next decade, it is expected to accommodate around $450 billions in reductions to the US Army and Marine Corps. Another strategic change will affect localization of the US forces. Now the focus will shift to the Asia-Pacific region as relationships with Asian allies and partners have become of the top priority to the United States.  This new strategy is supposed to increase stability in the region where China continues to grow as a regional power.
