Canadian man enters U.S. with only iPad

A Canadian man was able to cross the border into the United States using only his iPad and driver’s license. The man, Martin Reisch, forgot his passport and had only a digital copy of the document that had been scanned onto his iPad. A border patrol officer reviewed the passport and ultimately made the decision to accept the digital form of identification. Reisch was able to travel to Vermont and deliver his Christmas presents as originally planned as well as re-enter Canada with no issues. He believes that digital identification will soon be the only form of identification.
